WEIGH-INS
Q) Do I need to weigh-in with my Gi on?
A) Weigh-ins are WITHOUT the Gi.

Q) Is there any weight allowance when weighing in?
A) There is a strictly ZERO weight allowance.
- If you miss weight, you will be DQ'd.
- You cannot move divisions on the day.
- No further changes will be granted after the amendments deadline on Saturday, 6th April 2024 at 10pm.

Q) What if I find myself in two different weight classes?
A) If you find yourself in for example (Gi -61.5kgs & No-Gi -67.5kgs), you must weigh under your lowest weight division to still compete in both divisions.

Q) When is the earliest I can weigh-in?
A) You can weigh-in as soon as the doors open, which is usually around 8:30am/9am on event day.

Q) When is the latest I can weigh-in?
A) You must be weighed in 60 minutes before your division starts.
- Smoothcomp moves in real time and it is up to you to check when your DIVISION STARTS
(NOT your first match in the division as this could change at anytime with pullouts).
- If your division starts at 1:35pm, then you must arrive at 12:35pm at the latest (but can weigh-in from when the doors open in the morning as per the above).
- We ask everyone to arrive as early as possible to weigh-in.


COMPETITION
Q) Can I sign up for Absolute divisions on the day of the event?
A) No, all absolute registrations must be done prior to registration closing.

Q) Can I wear a t-shirt to compete in?
A) No, you cannot wear a t-shirt to compete in.

Q) Can I wear socks to compete in?
A) No, you cannot wear any socks to compete in.

Q) Can I wear a rashguard under my Gi?
A) Yes, we at Empire have no issue with a rashguard under your Gi.

Q) Can I wear any colour Gi?
A) Yes, we at Empire have no issue with any colour Gi. As long as it is is the correct size as per IBJJF measurements for you.

Q) Can I wear any colour No-Gi gear or do I have to wear a ranked colour?
A) No, we at Empire have no issue with any colour attire.

Q) Can I wear general shorts with pockets?
A) No, you must wear shorts with no pockets/zips of any kind.

Q) Can I walk around bear foot?
A) No, you must have something on your feet at all times unless you are competing on a mat or warming up on a mat.

Q) Can I compete without any top and just skin?
A) No, you must be wearing a rashguard.

Q) Do I have to keep my wristband on throughout the day and whilst competing?
A) Yes, the wristband must be kept on or you will be asked to leave the venue.

Q) Can I wear wrestling boots to compete in?
A) No, you are not permitted to where any footwear whilst competing.

Q) Can I wear a groin guard?
A) No, groin guards are illegal and will cause you to be DQ'd.

Q) Do I have to wear a gum shield?
A) No, it is not mandatory to wear a gum shield but we would advise all athletes to wear one.

Q) What happens if I do not have an opponent?
A) You can move yourself into a division that you qualify for if you like. If not, we will refund you in full after the amendments deadline.

Q) How long do refunds usually take?
A) We are advised that refunds once processed usually take around 5-10 working days to return to the account that paid.
