We get frequently asked what happens if you do not have any opponents and what merge criteria we look to implement where possible. Please read the below to help your understanding and answer some question you may have.

NO OPPONENTS
- Once registration closes, we will then review if any possible merges can take place.
- If after the amendments deadline (7 days before the event), you still do not have any opponents, you will receive a full refund.
- If you do not wish to be merged for any reason or only are happy with specific merges, please email the team prior to the amendments deadline with your request and we can place a note on your registration.

REFUNDS/CREDITS IF NOT MATCHED
*Please note refunds once processed take 5-10 working days to return to the payees account. This time period is out of our control.
**If you paid via a credit or part credit, we will only be able to issue a credit back to you for the credit amount (and refund the cash side as per the above) and will contact you by email regarding this.

MERGE CRITERIA (UNDER 18's)
- Merge up in weight once (you cannot move down unless you will make that weight).
- Merge up in age once (you cannot move down in age).
- Merge up in experience once (you cannot move down in experience).
*Anything further, you will need to email the team with your request prior to the amendments deadline.

- Merge down in age once (you cannot move up in age).
- Merge up in weight once (you cannot move down unless you will make that weight).
- Merge up in experience once (you cannot move down in experience).

QUESTIONS WE GET ASKED
Q) What if my division only has 2 people in, will I be merged?
A) No, we cannot control the amount of entrants in a division but if you email us with a request to get you the most matches and what you are happy being merged to to get more matches, we will do out best but cannot promise.

Q) What if my only opponent does not show up on event day?
A) You opponent will be given as much time as possible before we discuss with you what options you have available (Refund/Credit/Merges) and we will do our best to get you matches.

Q) What if my division drops down to only 2 athletes on event day, will we be merged?
A) No, we cannot control the amount of entrants in a division if people do not show up and do not advise us. We send out numerous reminders of how to withdraw and also how to notify us prior to event day.

Q) I am an under 18's athlete/I am a Beginner/Novice/White Belt in the over 18's and did not get a 2nd match-up after losing my first, why was that?
A) On the rarity this happens at an event, it can be from a few different reasons.
- Only 2 people in your division.
- Your opponent in the losing bout was unable to continue due to injury.
- Your opponent in the losing bout did not show up for the match.
- Your opponent in the losing bout did not want another match.
*The above are out of our control unfortunately and this only happens a handful of times per event. The losing bout is provided by us where possible for the newer and younger athletes to gain confidence and experience and is not always guaranteed due to the above.
