Coaches

1) Coaches can arrive in the venue from approximately 9am through the spectator entrance only.
*Each team will receive a set number of coaches pass as a gesture. These are allocated based on the amount of individual athletes they have from their team/gym from the information we receive on Smoothcomp ONLY.

These passes are on a first come, first served basis at reception on the day.

ALL coaches MUST bring Photo ID along with showing their Smoothcomp ID showing they are from the gym they are signing for and be at least a BJJ Blue Belt.

Our team will not enter discussions regarding any disagreements.

COACH PASS ALLOCATIONS

- 0-5 individual athletes = 1 coach pass
- 6-10 individual athletes = 2 coach passes
- 11-5 individual athletes = 3 coach passes
- 16-20 individual athletes = 4 coach passes
- 21+ individual athletes = 5 coach passes

Any other coaches will be classed as spectators and just have to pay the spectator fee (which for this event are purchased on the door on the day of the event).

2) The free coach passes are on a first come/first served basis and is not pre-allocated. It is up to each team to arrange who will be taking these. It is NOT 1x free coach per competitor.
*Staff will not take any abuse or discussion at the door if someone has already taken the teams pass and you will not be allowed to enter the venue if any abuse/arguments are found.

This is based on entries on Smoothcomp and so ask that everyone register their 'Gym' as the correct name.
*For example: Gym - Stealth BJJ Bolton / Affiliation - Stealth BJJ. The coach band will be allocated to 'Stealth BJJ Bolton'.

3) One 1 coach is allowed with each competitor in to the barriered competition area.
*If this is abused, we will remove coaches from the mat area and remove the coach band.

4) It is up to the coach to be ready when table runner (member of staff) comes to the pen to collect the competitor and the coach.
*If you are not ready then you will have to coach from the barriers (which is just as close really).

5) When coaching you will be asked to sit in the allocated coach chair where you must stay throughout the bout.
*You must stay with your student/the competitor at all times whilst in the barriered competition area.

6) When your bout is finished, you as the coach must return to the pen area with your student/the competitor and wait until the next bout for any of your students if applicable.
*You are NOT allowed to wait mat side for your next students bout or watch/additionally coach. You can return to the other side of the barrier through the pen to watch.

7) If you have multiple competitors on at a similar time, you must return to the pen area and speak to a member of staff. You are not allowed to stay in the barriered area throughout.
*This is to stop any unwarranted congestion in the competition area.
**Any coach found to be abusing these rules will be asked to leave the venue. Previous events have shown that the barriered competition area gets far too busy for the event to continually run smoothly.
